What We Do
purpose
A Longer Table (Friends of Joseph Floyd Manor) is a grassroots cause that currently provides advocacy, resources, and support to the residents of Joseph Floyd Manor (JFM). Through community outreach, awareness, donations, and fundraising, we are able to help improve the lives of residents on a weekly basis. We directly involve the residents we serve, which allows us to understand the dynamic needs of this tight-knit community.
Our goal and mission is to advocate with the residents to create safe and healthy housing. Financial resources and in-kind donations are among the many tools that we employ, but we also work directly with other non-profits, community partners, government agencies, and donors to address the needs of the residents we serve.
Our team is a small group of like-minded people who are driven to tackle the challenges the residents of JFM face with empathy, conviction, and bold and creative ideas. FoJFM’s long term goal is to add and serve a new location each year over the course of the next three years. During this time, we plan to expand our reach demographically and geographically, as well as our community partners and fundraising efforts.
If you are a local organization that serves low income, elderly, disabled, or veteran populations, and would like to partner with us, please reach out. Together, we can continue to grow our village and build a longer table.
