What We Do
Friends of Joseph Floyd Manor (FoJFM) is a grassroots cause and official non-profit organization (YAY!) that provides advocacy, resources and support to the residents of Joseph Floyd Manor (JFM). Through community outreach, awareness, donations, and fundraising, we are able to help improve the lives of residents. We are known for directly involving the residents we serve, allowing us to understand and act upon the dynamic needs of this tight-knit community.
Financial resources and in-kind donations are among the many tools we employ in our mission. Our goal is to advocate with the residents to create safe and healthy housing. We work directly with other non-profits, community partners, government agencies, and donors to quickly address the needs of the residents we serve.
Our team is a small group of like-minded people who are driven to tackle the challenges the residents of JFM face with empathy, conviction, and bold and creative ideas.
If you are a local organization that serves low income, elderly, disabled, or veteran populations, and would like to partner with us, please reach out. Together, we can continue to grow our village!
Our mission is to advocate with Manor residents for safe and healthy housing, while helping to protect their needs, desires, and interests.
In January 2021, we started a journey to expand our service, by stepping firmly into the role as advocate for the residents of Joseph Floyd Manor. Our work aims to connect all forms of capital – social, moral, intellectual, and reputational. Through these connections, we aim to remove the barriers standing in the way of equitable community resources.
Integrity + Conviction: We will earn and maintain the trust of those we serve and whom we serve with by demonstrating ethical standards, honesty, transparency, and consistency.
Inclusion with Equity: We will challenge ourselves to champion fairness and accessibility. We will strive to take bold and swift actions to address the important issues affecting the JFM residents
Communication: We will aim to always provide relevant, thoughtful, and transparent communications with the residents we serve and those we serve with.
