Giving Thursday Team

Our Giving Thursday volunteers consistently show up every Thursday, rain or shine, to help make sure the residents get what they need. These volunteers are donors, sponsors, friends, residents, community partners, supporters, and above all – selfless.

Brian and Joan LaPatin have been volunteering their time on #GivingThursday each week since day one and always bring along some very generous donations. They not only donate their time, food, and assistance, but they also bring much needed furniture and deliver it directly to the residents. The residents love seeing the LaPatins each week and we couldn’t do what we do without them!

“We do it because we can. We are retired and want to help people and make them happy. Even if it’s just one little sandwich… if it puts a smile on their face, it’s worth it.”

Paul Carswell has been a consistent member of our volunteer crew since early 2021. He not only donates his time, but also his Medicare expertise, answering all the residents’ questions and concerns. The residents look forward to seeing Paul each week and we are incredibly thankful to have him as part of our team!

Llewellyn “Llee” Worsham joined us in early 2021 after seeing physical and occupational therapy patients at JFM. Llee shows up weekly with a HUGE smile on his face, ready to check on and delivery groceries to our homebound residents. He thoughtfully packs each food delivery bag, making sure that each resident that he sees gets a little something special. We are very, very thankful for Llee and his team for their tireless hard work and dedication to the residents!

Meet the Rest of the Team

Our Giving Thursday team usually changes on a weekly basis – we L O V E seeing new faces! On the other hand, we also have some extremely consistent volunteers who show up every week and have been around since the beginning. Our volunteers come from our team of community partners, sponsors, friends, friends of friends, surrounding neighborhoods, and many more places.
